FREE XOOD GIVEAWAY. READ ON FOR DETAILS.

Dr. Salvatore Tirrito has given Ride-Strong.com a canister of Xood to giveaway to one of our lucky Ride-Strong.com readers. Simply comment on this blog post below and we will be selecting a winner on March 1, 2009

XOOD is a revolutionary, healthy drink unlike anything you’ve experienced. It’s all-natural with a light, refreshing taste. There are no added sweeteners and no artificial flavoring, colors or fake anything of any kind. XOOD’s precise blend of maltodextrin, fructose, whey protein, electrolytes and vitamins is designed to help you tear up the track – without tearing up your GI tract.

Performance That’s Good for You
XOOD was developed by two endurance athletes who are also cardiologists. They combined their personal experience as athletes and their medical expertise to create a performance drink that just makes sense.

All Natural
Everything that goes into XOOD comes directly from nature. The sugars, carbs, proteins and other ingredients are derived from natural sources. There are no artificial sweeteners, colorings, flavorings or chemicals of any kind. XOOD doesn’t even depend on traditional additives to make it dissolve. We pulverize XOOD into an ultra-fine powder for easy mixing. That’s why you’ll see a puff when you open the container. XOOD gives you everything you need and nothing you don’t.With no artificial flavors or sweeteners XOOD has a light, satisfying taste. It’s not sickeningly sweet and doesn’t leave an aftertaste or unpleasant mouth coating.

Carbohydrates
Unlike many performance drinks, XOOD gives you the advantages of both simple sugars and complex carbohydrates. Its two-to-one ratio of maltodextrin and fructose provides a high absorption rate. This gives you the quick boost of energy of simple sugars while proving the long lasting endurance of complex carbs.

Protein
Protein is vital to your performance and muscle recovery. But too much hard-to-digest protein can cause GI tract distress and cramping in the extremities. XOOD’s 12-to-1 ratio of carbs to ultra-fine whey protein gives you the protein you need for improved muscle function, while causing less digestive problems. Learn more about protein in endurance sports drinks>>

Electrolytes
XOOD has the necessary electrolytes – sodium, calcium, chloride, magnesium and potassium – that help the body function at optimal levels during intense activity.

Vitamins
The special blend of vitamins C, D, E, B6, B12, ribloflavin and folic acid help metabolize carbohydrates and optimize muscle function.

I have recieved a few free packets of Xood at races in Tucson in the past year. The flavors are good, it is light on the system and seems to keep me going and gets me back up after I’m done. I’ve heard mixed results from runners, but all cyclist I know have found it to be a great product.

This is the kind of ride drink that I would custom create: the right ratio of maltodextrin carbs with whey protein, with a light taste and no strong coloring.

Although, in the marketing, I would downplay the fact the owners/creators are physicians which implies a professional credibility to their product formula. Like, since when does being a cardiologist automatically confer expertise in exercise physiology? It doesn’t. Okay, maybe doing so could influence a good chunk of the market but the rest who know better will just think: hmm… physicians’ salaries helped build the capital to start a business…. the formula composition is some anyone could have come up with after some web research. The difference is that they did it and the drink is taking off (hopefully).

It’s a great product! and I shall live their successes vicariously.

I have tried Xood in two flavors via sample packets and was pleased with the taste. Would certainly be willing to give it a longer term comparison to my current favorite which is Hammer Nutrition.

I’m always looking for a good fuel source! This sounds like great stuff. I wonder how it compares to HEED or Perpetum.

Our Women’s racing team was asked to check into this product, but every time we tried to get to website it wouldn’t work. Nice to finally see the link in this blog post to get to the nutrition info. Still have not tried. Our team would like to try it out before we endorse it.

I have been using this on my rides for a few weeks now. I can tell a difference in my energy levels during the ride and my recovery level after. I rode mountain 32 miles on Sat. and road 55 miles on Sunday and I could ride again today without giving it much thought; I’m usually ready for a day off after riding that much. I drank one Green Tea, one Mangosteen, and one Pomegranate each day. I like the taste of the Pomegranate or Mangosteen better but the green tea is OK too.

I received 3 free sample in a Tri bag. Held on to them for several months. Decided to give the mix a try this past week and LOVED the product. All 3 were easy to palate (actually like pomegranate & Mangesteen flavors), zero GI discomfort (then or later), had no fatigue after either of my post 8 mile pace run, 75 min comu-ride or LT calibration swim. Awesome stuff !!! Have share info with friends & 2 athletic store owners….Get it in! Meanwhile, I’m ordering TODAY!
