To Karen Burwell: I won the Tour race in the neighborhood - it was an easy victory because my opponent wasn't old enough to leave the drikveway -----

Fun, transportation, thrills...I also ride to share the fun of biking. I love to invite nieces and nephews to go for rides. Most kids today only get to ride in their driveways with Mom and Dad close by. They don't have the freedom we had to take off exploring on our bikes. So I like to take them to quiet areas to ride. We have introduced several kids - relatives and the kids of friends- to road riding and mountain biking. It is fun to ride. It is fun to bring this kind of joy to the kids we know. They all know we're always willing to take them along for a great adventure. When they see what it's like to ride for some miles (instead of a few blocks) or to go into the woods and test their mettle, it is so rewarding for us as we watch them fall in love with biking. And with a good bike (those who are big enough get to ride one of our bikes instead of their toy store bikes. They feel the difference!

To TEC:
yeah, we're all trying to fight that aging thing happening. I used to love to take the nephews mountain biking and leave them eating my dust. I wonder if I can still beat some of my nephews....or any of them?
Have to call a couple of the kids and take 'em out and try....
