A group of cyclist were racing when a car plowed into the the group head on. The crash was caught on video.

I know a guy that complains about cyclist on the road, this shows the problem is not cyclist. The problem is idiots and drunks behind the wheel of cars.

I can’t believe they managed to get that picture. You hate to see it, but hopefully it will give drivers an idea of how easy it is to kill cyclists in a bike vs car collision…

That is a truely sad sight. I guess some drivers would say that they shouldn’t have been on the road.
Please riders I know that we should keep our focus on the road, but ALWAYS keep a weary eye on the cars around you whether they are approaching you from the front or back.

Beyond sad, it’s heartbreaking and hideous. Cars are lethal machines.
We aren’t safe out there; we’ll always lose in any accident.
That this happened in a race just makes it more horrible because even
in an organized event like this, you aren’t safe from the incompetents in motor vehicles. Be extra careful out there, whether riding or racing!

Wow. That is a horrific picture. It is sad that with the decades of anti drunk driving messages that have been put out, it is still going on.

Again the dangers of road/crit/tt racing on open roads is shown in a horrific example-last year a racer was killed in IL at a road race in Peoria–open road racing can be dangerous-but in this case drunk driving and the open road is catastrophic-it is unfortunate that the penalties for drunk driving have not been increased to the point where violators are taken off the road permanently

That guy should be SHOT, STABBED, and HUNG… it still wouldn’t be enough punishment. I bet the LOSER didn’t have a job either!

hi my name is jositia,
I hate it when people is innocent and they were suppose to be racing. But i think drivers should remember to be careful when driving on the path / road.
I hope those cyclist would be really okay. Plus, some cyclist have good luck; they don’t get a hit and managed to cycle on the other side of the path.
Cyclist and drivers must be very careful on the road!
