Just a note: There’s no water at Palisades during the winter. The faucet is removed and the lines drained to prevent freezing. You can get a bottled water at the Visitor Center.

Will be out there the first weekend in March. Hoping the weather cooperates and I get to do the Mt Lemmon ride.

Yes it is possible. Just dress warm and bring layers for the ride down. The ride down can be cold.

I have done the ride to the top in February. All depends on the weather.

I am considering a trip to Tucson for the last week in February. Is it possible to cycle up Mt. Lemmon in late February? What is the weather like? Given that there is a ski area, I am thinking this is a crazy idea. Advice?

I made it up to Sky Center at the top of Mt Lemmon yesterday. A newly paved road from Ski Valley on up to the top, with 11 and 12% grades on that top 2 miles, so get out there and give it a try ! I left the bottom at 6 am, with 2 Polar bottles and 2 grocery store water bottles and 80 degrees at the start. You can refill at Palisades, so that was plenty of water. The Lemmon is an awesome ride !
