I have the road bag on my bike and use the CO2 cartridges regularly on my rides. My 7yr old wants a bag for his mountain bike so it will find a good home.

Buying a fixie “Lemond” and extra co2 in the smokey mountains would be great. Any bags
March 10th, 2008 at 9:18 am
This would be a great way to switch over, and lighten the load!
March 10th, 2008 at 9:23 am
I have heard alot about CO2 pumps. It sure would be great to have one so I’m not struggling with just a hand pump to get those road tires inflated.
March 10th, 2008 at 9:36 am
After procrastinating over the purchase of a CO2 inflation solution for such a long period of time, I have come to the conclusion that it must be pre-ordained that I am to win one here instead!
To be honest, I have never used one, and I think that it makes me somewhat leery of them. It would be nice to have with me along for the ride. Struggling with a pump to get adequate air in the tire for ride home after a flat gets annoying. If I could eliminate carrying the pump it would give me an extra cage for another water bottle too.
March 10th, 2008 at 9:42 am
The co2 is really easy to use. We will put a video on the site as to how to use the co2 pump.

Ah the joys of a little blast of hot air–if only i could bottle my wife’s –but in lieu of that-the convenience of these little gems are unbelieveable-example being when i was on the Pugsley at night recently, along Chicago’s Lake Shore Path in a blizzard 6″ of snow already down, temperature 23F and wind honking from the east giving a real feel of 12F, i am running 20 lbs of air in 4″/120mm endomorph tires and still slipping all over-i release more air-and soon discover more was too much-now i am trying to use a little hand pump to regain some air pressure and not have the tire roll off the large marge rims-success - but barely—if only i had an innovations co2 unit in my innovations seat bag with the repair kit i would have been rolling along in that winter wonderland without difficulty

Is there an adapter for adding some sparkle to a mixed drink? I have a flask that would fit nicely in the bag they are giving away as well.
March 10th, 2008 at 9:49 am
It would be great to be able to leave the pump at home! I’ve got one of these inflators on my birthday wishlist! I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed!
March 10th, 2008 at 9:52 am
More free stuff? Great!!! I hope I win!
March 10th, 2008 at 10:00 am
The refills sure do seem expensive. But I can see how they’d really come in handy during races or in adverse weather conditions.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:17 am
Wow, what a great give away! Count me in!
Thanks Ride-strong!

Does anyone know if the cylinders have a life span? I’ve never used one because i wasn’t sure if 1) they could reliably pump a road tire to an adequate pressure and 2) if i would ever find myself needing to use it and the cylinder be half-empty or whatever. (and without my regular pump)!
I do realize that they are a lot faster than the old hand pump. maybe it’s time i switched.
March 10th, 2008 at 10:43 am
Tyler,
We appreciate the opportunity to respond to any questions:
- Life span of a CO2 cylinder is virtually indefinite. Cylinders work fine ever after 10+ years on the shelf.
- 16 gram cylinders are best for cyclist because they provide just the right amount to fill a tire. This is roughly 130psi for a 700 X 23 road bike and 45psi for a 26 X 2.1 MTB tire.
- We recognize that people don’t want to get stranded if they have multiple flat tires. This is why our Hybrid pumps are so great. The Second Wind MTB and Second Wind Road are great quality hand pumps PLUS
CO2 inflators all in one unit!

These things are great. I’ve used them for mountain biking and road riding events. I would gladly add these to my emergency pack kit!
Cheers,

I’ve been using your guys’ product for a while and reallyhappy with them. But is it me, or should stores have more bulk cartricges for sale? I dont need fancy packaging for them. Just a big box with less expensive 16g’s would be perfect!
March 10th, 2008 at 11:55 am
This is a product that every cyclist can use. It’s light, easy to store, and really does the job when you hear that unwanted sound - “whooosssh”, of the air ruching out of your tire.
March 10th, 2008 at 11:55 am
i’ve never used co2, but i’d love to give it a shot!
March 10th, 2008 at 12:25 pm
I love the idea of a compact CO2 cartridge over a small hand pump that will take forever to get a road bike tire up to working pressure.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
March 10th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
I have been using a non-threaded CO2 inflater for about five years now and have never had a problem. I don’t even own a portable pump! It would be great to try out one of these with the threaded cyclinder. I have been wanting to for a while now.
March 10th, 2008 at 12:52 pm
I would love free stuff!!!
March 10th, 2008 at 1:23 pm
A bag or a catridge, or both. That’d be great! I have a bag but only throw my keys in it; time to be more prepared on the road. Especially since I commute by bike as often as possible in decent weather.
March 10th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
you gotta love a co2 cartridge for dependability and size. they pack just the right amount of air to get you back on the road quicly and safely
March 10th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
I could always use some co2 for quick flat repair. And a chance to get it for free, that’s even better.
March 10th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
Would it be too great a jinx to admit that I’ve only had two blowouts, and each time within a mile from my house? That revealed, I must be due! Thanks to Genuine Innovations for the donations. The pumps look interesting and a lot easier to carry.
March 10th, 2008 at 3:41 pm
This would be sweet!
March 10th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
The co2 pump would be good to have when racing to get back to the pack faster.
March 10th, 2008 at 5:12 pm
I’ve used both manual and co2. Co2 is by far easier and faster. No more sore arms pumping!
March 10th, 2008 at 6:06 pm
Things certainly have come a long way since the Zefal frame pump and using screw drivers to switch a flat.
Marty!! It’s great to see that Genuine innovations supplies only the chuck. For those of that race and train onboard space is often limited. We are always trying to devote as much of our available space for food and drink when out training without making it to bulky or to heavy. I could see these products making it into my pack and maybe even a few of my team mates packs.
March 10th, 2008 at 7:05 pm
Mmmmm, me like me some freebies
March 10th, 2008 at 8:09 pm
I’ve always used pumps. I’m a CO2 virgin. Won’t you help me change that?
March 10th, 2008 at 9:47 pm
I’m training for my first triathlon, the Wildflower Olympic distance in Monterey County, CA on May 4th. After more than 10 years as a cyclist using pumps, I’m going to have to add some CO2 cylinders to my arsenal for this race. Can’t wait to try these. Free would be great!
March 10th, 2008 at 11:13 pm
I’m in dire need of finishing my road pack, (i.e. I need a FREE C02 pump), please?!
March 11th, 2008 at 4:50 am
What I’m so deflated already… I need to be pumped up quickly!
I’m tired of getting stuck in the Hood while riding and wasting time pumping and pumping and pumping- Oh watching over my back so I don’t get jumped when riding to work.
Scarey.
I would like the bag inflation system
March 11th, 2008 at 7:45 am
Genuine Innovations are great. I have not had to use my inflator on my bike but have helped others who have had flats on the road. I keep having to replace patches and cartridges all the time. Winning anything would be great.
March 11th, 2008 at 9:12 am
I’d love to give one a try, pick me, pick me!
March 11th, 2008 at 11:55 am
I like the hybrid pump, it allows me to not have to carry an inflator head, and mini pump both.
March 11th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
I never get flats. Guess I’ll have one this weekend
