I use Hammer Gel Heed. It has less sugar than Gatorade, and that’s why I like it.

I drink Powerade because it’s 99 cents at Winco. I am still looking for a good recovery drink that works well but doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. I would definitely be open to trying out Fluid.

I’m a big HEED fan too. But I’m always looking for options and from the stats it looks like it’s good stuff!

Like Cytomax on the ride (one bottle of that and one of pure H2O) and Endurox (Rx) for recovery, but am always up for trying something NEW! Fluid sounds intriguing.

My first encounter with Fluid was at Interbike this year, and it is definitely a tasty way to enhance your recovery! These guys are doing a fantastic job with their research and studies on what the body needs and carefully formulating their product to cater to our body’s specific needs after a rough workout. Keep it up!

I began using Fluid last year about halfway through my training for the Wildflower half ironman and definitely noticed a difference in my recovery. I had been using Endurox prior to Fluid. My sister just ran the Chicago marathon and had just been drinking Gatorade for the majority of her training before switching to Fluid. Fluid really allowed her to do her workouts more consistently without feeling pain the next day when she went out to run. I definitely would try it if you havent already.

Ok, so I know it’s bad but I gulp down a good half can of Mt. Dew. Followed by a large glass of cool water.
I’d love to give something like Fluid a try.

I have tried Gatorade, PowerBar, Cytomax, and Gu2O carb drinks. It is really difficult to gauge effect on my performance between different maltodextrin-based drinks, which have worked well for me during rides. Taste-wise, I had been addicted to Cytomax Tangy Orange. Lemon-lime is good, too. I’m now working on a tub of Peach flavor - but I didn’t like finding out that it includes guarana (containing caffeine) and 100% RDA vitamin A per serving. That’s a lot of vitamin A on an all-day ride. The recommended mix is too sweet. I like the frill-free blandness and low artificial color of Gu2O orange which is very easy to get used to. I usually go with whatever’s on sale between Cytomax (now, staying away from the flavors with unnecessary additives) and Gu2O. I haven’t tried other brands because of the higher cost/serving, esp. when considering that the cheaper stuff works well enough for me. I am curious, though, about the benefit of having protein in a 1:4 ratio to carbs for exertions longer than 2hrs. I’ve added my own protein power before with mixed results. gave me a satisfying full-stomach feel and made me burp. was kinda gross, too.

Actually, I understand now that the source of vitamin A in a few of the Cytomax flavors is beta carotene, a vitamin A precursor. It is supposedly non-toxic in high doses, unlike retinol.

I’ve been using Fluid for the last 365 days. In my opinion, it’s the best recovery product on the market. The difference between Fluid and all the other recovery products is that theirs actually tastes good. Its best used SUPER cold right after racing or training.

Gatorade during training, cytomax for races.

I have tried several brands and for short rides, less than one hour, I prefer water. Over that threshold I like Hammer products
They are mild in flavor without added sugars. I just feel better using them so far I would be open to evaluating another product.
