Last week I was in the Vail, Colorado area and did some road bike rides. There are a couple of rides I did that are worth mentioning and are Must Do Rides if you are ever in the area.

One ride is the ride from Minturn, Co to Leadville, Co and back. It is an awesome ride! Check out the link below.

www.roadbikerides.com/ride/view/minturn_to_leadville_bike_ride/5610

Another great ride is a ride called the Copper Triangle which is a loop the goes through Vail, Minturn and Leadville. It is a tough ride with tons of climbing and 3 major passes. Check out the link below.

www.roadbikerides.com/ride/view/cooper_triangle_bike_ride/5619

You will not be disappointed by going on either ride. Bring some money, put on the sunscreen, bring a few layers in case a storm rolls in and Ride-Strong!

Pictured below ex pro cyclist Gord Fraser and I rode the out and back from Minturn to Leadville. What a ride!

At about mile 35 there is a bridge you will cross. The bridge has a metal floor and is slippery. Make sure you slow down and enter the bridge head on to avoid road rash other wise you may need our “road rash bike crash kit.”

Over the weekend the my wife and I were in Las Vegas for a Vemma convention. We drove from Tucson to Las Vegas so we could bring our bikes. We were able to skip out one day and get in a bike ride.

After talking to several people about the best place to get in a ride more than one person said that we needed to ride the Red Rock Canyon Loop. So that is where we decided to go. It turned out to be an awesome ride. The scenery and views were breath taking.

If you are ever in Las Vegas, Nevada the Red Rock Canyon Loop is a Must-Do-Ride!

To add mileage you can do a couple loops through Red Rock Canyon and then head out to Blue Diamond.

For all all of you in Arizona we are so fortune for the weather we have had over the new year. The weather does not get any better than this and allows us to ride year around.

On new years eve and new years day I went on 2 of my favorite bike rides in Tucson, AZ.

On the 31st I worked in morning at my mortgage office helping people with their refinances to help homeowners take advantaged of the low interest rates we are now seeing as a result of the economic condition. Then skipped out for a bike ride and a couple of loops around Saguaro Monument East. The temp was perfect; in the mid 70′s with no wind.

On news years day Michael Malisewski and I did one of my favorite rides and one of Tucson’s best kept secret the ride to Marsh Station which for us about a 65 mile ride. What a great ride. We left around 8:30 am and there were NO cars on the road. The ride is cool because it parallels the train track. There are some sections were you can race the train on your bike. We ran into two trains this morning which makes for a fun ride.

MAKE 2009 A GREAT YEAR!

AS ALWAYS RIDE-STRONG!
