My wife Mimi and I headed up to Flagstaff, AZ this weekend to get some relief from the heat - although things are starting to cool off in the Arizona desert.

There were tons of cyclists on the road putting the hammer down. You could not have asked for a better day.

The fall weather in Flagstaff was awesome and there were wild flowers everywhere. Plus there were tons of elk out in the meadows of Mormon Lake.

One of the top rides in the state of Arizona is the ride out Lake Mary Road around Mormon Lake. It is a must-do-ride if you are ever in Flagstaff, AZ.

Lance Armstrong returning to the Tour de France?

CNN/Sports Illustrated is reporting that Velonews says Lance Armstrong is planning to return to the Tour de France in 2009. Though the man himself has not confirmed yet.

Just like Mike, I guess Lance is feeling a little bored and unloved in retirement. Or maybe he’s tired of losing mountain bike races (Leadville 100) and marathons (Boston, NY). The article also mentions specific races Lance is said to be planning to attend in 2009 including the Tour de Georgia. Awesome – Go Lance!

Imagine how crazy the Tour de Georgei will be with Lance racing. Will be an exciting 2009 cycling season. We shall see if he can pull it off.
